Curatorial note

A magnificent carpet from the Aït Youssi tribe in deep aubergine-purple, structured around a central prayer-niche medallion outlined in ivory and surrounded by a dense field of individual geometric compartments. Each compartment holds a distinct tribal symbol — crosses, eight-pointed stars, diamond formations — in ivory, saffron-orange, and warm brown. The outer border carries a precise geometric meander in black and ivory. Every motif in this piece corresponds to a protective symbol in the tattoo tradition of Amazigh women. Vintage and one of a kind.
