Curatorial note
A visually remarkable Mrirt runner in which the pile shifts from pure natural ivory at the top end to deep charcoal-grey at the base — a natural ombré gradient achieved not through dye but through the progressive substitution of undyed ivory wool for naturally dark fleece. The surface is structured as a simple square grid of ivory lines on the shifting grey ground, the regularity of the geometry amplifying the drama of the tonal transition. The long, silky pile — characteristic of the Mrirt weaving tradition — catches light differently along its length, making the gradient feel alive. Vintage and one of a kind.
