Curatorial note
A joyfully exuberant Azilal runner in the spontaneous colour-field tradition of the High Atlas Berber women weavers. The composition is a free sequence of large irregular rectangular colour blocks — deep magenta-pink dominating, punctuated by panels of forest green, saffron-gold, ivory, charcoal and pale grey — each block outlined in black to create a bold graphic structure reminiscent of abstract painting. The upper section transitions to a more geometric register of green, yellow and grey on ivory. Knotted ivory fringes close both ends. A piece that transforms any hallway into a gallery. One of a kind.
