Curatorial note

An extraordinary Middle Atlas carpet functioning as a visual encyclopaedia of Amazigh tribal symbols. Against a washed sage-green field, hundreds of autonomous motifs are scattered freely: tent forms, arrowheads, zigzag serpents, diamond registers, human and animal silhouettes, tool forms and architectural outlines — each a glyph in the weaver's personal visual language. A dense geometric border of alternating coloured panels frames all four sides. No two readings of this carpet are the same; every viewing reveals new hidden symbols.
