Curatorial note
A vivid and commanding carpet from the Ait Jaacob tribe, woven in burnt orange and amber on a terra cotta ground. The field is organised into large rectangular panels, each containing bold octagonal medallion forms with geometric star interiors in deep charcoal and ivory. The outer border carries a dense animal and geometric frieze characteristic of the Ait Jaacob weaving tradition. The powerful palette speaks to the tribe's celebrated mastery of natural dye. Vintage and one of a kind.
